Once people begin consistently purchasing homes again, the prices will begin to rise back up. The price elasticity of demand for goods and commodities determines a consumer’s behavior in the event of a price change. The sport of volleyball was created by a man named William G. Morgan of Holyoke, Massachusetts in 1895. Morgan was a physical education teacher at the YMCA and called it â€Å"Mintonette†. It was an indoor or outdoor pastime that had characteristics of both handball and tennis. The first rules were written down by Morgan himself. He wrote that the game called for a 6 foot 6 inch net and a court of 25Ãâ€"50 feet. A match composed of 9 innings and 3 serves for each team in each inning. In 1917 at the Allied Forces air base in Porto Corsini, where Ravenna’s sports palace is now located, American airmen introduce the virus of Volleyball into Italy. A Learning Experience: Lost in Translation

Ralph Waldo Emerson, a well-known American literary icon, once said that â€Å"No man should travel until he has learned the language of the country he visits. Otherwise he voluntarily makes himself a great baby – so helpless and so ridiculous.† I came upon this quote while I was looking for some passages or anecdotes that might make for a â€Å"first paragraph with a good hook.†Emerson’s take on the issue of language learning was somehow brutal and unconstructive, instantly attracting my attention since I am an international student acknowledging some limitations in my knowledge and skills in the use of the English language.Although Emerson was, and is still, highly-revered for his ingenuity in literature, I would have to express my disagreement about what he said about the helplessness and ridiculousness of people who visit countries without obtaining knowledge and practical skills on each country’s native language.My experiences in this country h as taught me that being at a disadvantage in terms of one’s lack of knowledge and skills in language and communication do not bring down a person to helplessness and nonsensicality. For I have discovered that being â€Å"lost in translation† is not a hopeless situation but an opportunity to sensibly and realistically learn the language.When arrived here one year ago, my limitations pertaining to the English language has made my life adjustments worse since it was difficult to openly communicate and relate to other people. The news show televised a case wherein two individuals claiming to be insurance handlers fooled other people into subscribing for insurance plans.They ran away after obtaining the initial payments made by their clients. I remember my friend telling me initially how it was a â €Å"rip off.† I did not understand what he meant by the situation being a rip-off since the act of ripping to me, as I understood it, is the act of tearing or cutting a thing or an object. The Male Reproductive System Many males think they know their bodies but not many of them actually take the time to fully understand it. When I started this research topic I thought I knew everything there was to know about the male reproductive system but I was sadly mistaken. Join me in my quest to find out all there is to know about it. Males can start puberty as early as ten or as late as sixteen. Puberty, a frightening but necessary experience for boys and girls, can start unexpectedly in life. Most young males are too busy playing with friends to notice that inside their bodies, hormonal change is taking place. Puberty is the time when a boy becomes a man, or a rebellious teenager. The start of puberty is caused by the brain sending hormonal signals to the testis. During puberty growth hormone is activated and although a large growth spurt is a common occurrence for the first half of puberty it is also common to have small growth spurts in height during the second half of puberty. Males have many physical changes while entering and during puberty. The first noticeable sign of puberty is growth in testicular size. The testis will continue growing until quite a few years after the start of puberty until they have reached the normal adult size. Right after the testis has grown for about a year the shaft of the penis starts to enlarge and lengthen. Not only do the testes produce hormones but they are also the place of creation for sperm. Boys can become fertile from as early as twelve to sixteen. The first appearance of hair on a male in puberty originates on and around the testis, near and above the base of the penis and on the side of the inner thighs. These masses are known as cavernous tissue and when the male is aroused they fill with blood. He complained that the gods should have made human beings with windows in their chests so that their thoughts could be easily read. I couldn't have agreed more. All I wanted was to know. It infuriated me to no end that I could see the world, and I could see what other people looked like, but I couldn't see what the world looked like to other people. What changes might you make in the conï ¬ guration of CT scan rooms and waiting area to improve some of the task times? †¢ After the patient located, ask he or she to change their to patient’s surgery scrubs, so nurse doesn’t really need to changing linens and clean room; also improve CT scan’s quality. †¢ Clear signs on waiting room and CT scan room may guide patients naturally. †¢ Attach a contrast auto-reï ¬ ll machine to the CT scan machine, so the reï ¬ ll step may be eliminated. †¢ Instead of returning patient, direct and say wish you all the best to the patient. 4. How might specialization be used to reduce the burden on the bottleneck, and hence improve throughput? †¢ On the old scanner, I think its bottleneck is CT scan step. Machine takes 17 minutes to complete the scan. Therefore, machine’s improvement will be helpful †¢ Since the old scanner needs more time on scan process, I think it’s possible that the nurse can use this 17 minutes to locate, move and put IV on next patient in order to increase the whole procedure and to decrease waiting time. †¢ As question 3, attach a contrast auto-reï ¬ ll machine to the CT scan machine, so the reï ¬ ll step may be eliminated. †¢ Instead of returning patient, direct and say wish you all the best to the patient. †¢ Add some hospital volunteers on patients moving and returning may allow nurse to help next patient.3
